Sangamon County Fair Announces Southern Uprising Tour Performance Date

New Berlin, IL:  The Southern Uprising Tour is coming to the Sangamon County Fair Saturday June 15, 2019, featuring Travis Tritt, The Charlie Daniels Band, and The Cadillac Three.

The 2019 Sangamon County Fair will be the 70th annual event, and will be held Tuesday, June 11th through Sunday, June 16th in New Berlin.  Fair Board President Nathan Smith says, “The ability to bring the Southern Uprising Tour to the Sangamon County Fair is a great example of how we are working to cater to fans of both current and classic country music.  We are proud to have a group rising in popularity like The Cadillac Three, and true icons such as The Charlie Daniels Band and Travis Tritt all in one night’s entertainment.”

A Marietta, GA native, Travis Tritt is dubbed one of “The Class of ‘89,” which included Country music superstars Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson; all of whom dominated the charts in the early ‘90s. Among his eleven studio albums and numerous charted singles are nineteen Top 10 hits, including “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde,” “Here’s A Quarter” and “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive.” His 25-year career has produced millions in album sales, two Grammy award wins and multiple No. 1 singles on the Country radio charts.

Few artists have left a more indelible mark on America’s musical landscape than Charlie Daniels.  In 1972 he formed The Charlie Daniels Band and the group scored its first hit with the top ten “Uneasy Rider”.  Since then The Charlie Daniels Band has populated radio with such memorable hits as “Long Haired Country Boy”, “The South’s Gonna Do It Again”, “In America”, “The Legend of Wooley Swamp” and of course, his signature song, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia”, which won a Grammy for best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group in 1979 as well as single of the year at the Country Music Association Awards. “I love what I do”, says Charlie of his 60-plus years in the music business. “I look forward to entertaining people.  When show time gets here, I’m ready to go play for them.  It’s a labor of love.  I just thank God I make a living at what I enjoy doing.”

The Cadillac Three is rapidly becoming known for their high-energy shows and gritty musical instincts. Jaren Johnston (Guitar & Lead Vocals), Kelby Ray (Bass Steel Guitar, Dobro, Acoustic & Vocals) and Neil Mason (Drums, Percussion & Vocals) have weathered wild adventures as a Country group with a rockin’ edge and epitomize their self-described “country fuzz” sound with their Big Machine Records singles “The South,” “Party Like You” and “White Lightning.”   With a raw sound like no other, the buzz-worthy trio has appeared on ABC’s hit drama “NASHVILLE” and their music has been featured on “CSI Miami” and two CW shows – “Vampire Diaries” and “Hart Of Dixie.”

The June 15th concert will be held in the grandstand area of the Sangamon County Fairgrounds and will begin at 7pm.  For a limited time, tickets will be available for a discounted rate of $30 for grandstand admission where fair goers can choose from standing room in the arena, or seats in the stands. Through December 25th, this ticket price will also include general admission to the fairgrounds at no additional charge.  This holiday special ticket price is available online at www.sangcofair.com.
