"Star Wars" Director Named
He knocked the latest "Star Trek" right out of the park. Can he do the same for "Star Wars?" J.J. Abrams is going to give it a try. TheWrap.com is quoting "an individual with knowledge of the production" who says Abrams will direct the new "Star Wars" movie. Abrams has a good track record--he co-created "Lost," "Fringe," and "Alias" for TV and directed "Star Trek" and "Mission Impossible III."
James Bond Actors Might Appear Together at Oscar Ceremony
Over the years there have been six actors who have played James Bond for the franchise. Now rumors are swirling that producers of the Academy Awards are trying to get all six of them to appear on the show together for a James Bond tribute. It would be the first time all six actors gathered together like this - Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig.
Another Award Show This Weekend
Award season continues with the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday in L.A. On the movie side it's a tie between "Les Miserables," "Lincoln," and "Silver Linings Playbook" for the most nominations. On the TV side "Modern Family" is the most nominated. Dick Van Dyke will receive a Life Achievement Award Sunday as well. You can see the awards on TNT and TBS at 7pm on Sunday.
