John & Michele in the Morning

After 15 years, we're down to the last week.  July 12, 2013 will be the last show for John & Michele in the Morning.  There's nothing scandalous to report...sorry! 
John will continue his reign as Springfield's morning show king, but he'll just be doing it with someone new.
Michele is moving on to a new phase of her career in the radio business.  She'll still be in Springfield and still with Neuhoff Media, however instead of being on the air she's going to be focusing on all things digital.  It's been a great 15 years, and John & Michele plan to spend this last week reminiscing with guests and playing some of the best moments of the past.

Weekend Marquee/E Buzz for May 17, 2013

Movie in the Park: Friday at Southwind Park at dusk.  The featured film is "Wreck It Ralph."  Admission is free, and popcorn and soft drinks are available for purchase.  Families can bring lawn chairs and blankets.  In case of rain call 544-1751.

March for Babies: Saturday at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in the Food-a-Rama building.  Registration starts at 9am, walk starts at 10am.  The event benefits the March of Dimes.  More info at www.marchforbabies.org

Old Capitol Farmers Market: Saturday 8am - 12:30pm downtown between 5th and 2nd streets in Springfield.

Lincoln Memorial Garden Hosts Springfield's First Trail Run: Saturday at Lincoln Memorial Garden and Nature Center.  There's an 8K trail run and a children's fun run.  The 8k race starts at 8am, the children's fun run at 9:30am.  For more information visit www.lincolnmemorialgarden.org

Springfield Old Capitol Art Fair: Saturday and Sunday on the Old State Capitol grounds in downtown Springfield.  Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 10am-4pm.  Admission is free.  More information www.socaf.org

Art of Illinois Wine Festival: Saturday 11am - 9pm, Sunday 11am - 4pm at 5th and Jefferson in downtown Springfield.

Music in the Park: Sunday 4-7pm at Lincoln Park. Featured music is classic rock from The Aspect (Beatles) and Harmony Deep.  Admission is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.  For more info visit www.springfieldparks.org

"American Idol" Season 12 Winner Declared....

It came down to Kree and Candice, and Candice Glover prevailed to become the season 12 winner of "American Idol."  The native of South Carolina became the first woman to win the title since season six winner Jordin Sparks.  For the first time in the history of the show, the winner's album became available for pre-order immediately following the show.

"The Office" Ends It's Nine Season Run
It was farewell to "The Office" on NBC Thursday night.  The finale had the Dunder Mifflin team getting together for the wedding of Dwight and Angela.  Even Steve Carell's character showed up at the last minute to be co-best man. 

Jodi Arias TV Movie Set for June
Of course there's going to be a Jodi Arias TV movie, and of course it's going to be on Lifetime.  June 22nd is the premiere date for "Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret." 

"Angry Birds 3D" Coming to Theaters
There's a good chance you have played Angry Birds at least once on a mobile device, but did you ever think it would become a movie?  Rovio, the game's developer, announced Sony Pictures Entertainment has purchased the rights.  The film is to be released July 1, 2016.
