John & Michele in the Morning

After 15 years, we're down to the last week.  July 12, 2013 will be the last show for John & Michele in the Morning.  There's nothing scandalous to report...sorry! 
John will continue his reign as Springfield's morning show king, but he'll just be doing it with someone new.
Michele is moving on to a new phase of her career in the radio business.  She'll still be in Springfield and still with Neuhoff Media, however instead of being on the air she's going to be focusing on all things digital.  It's been a great 15 years, and John & Michele plan to spend this last week reminiscing with guests and playing some of the best moments of the past.

Weekend Marquee/E Buzz for March 29, 2013

Easter Activities...
Old Capitol Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday 11am - 3pm on the lawn of the Old State Capitol.  For ages 12 and under.  Includes face painting and balloons.  Bring a decorated egg for a chance to win a prize.  Free.

Chatham Jaycees Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday at 11:00am on the town square.  For pre-K to fifth grade.

Easter Egg Hunt: Saturday 11am - 1pm on the town square in Girard.  For kids up to fifth grade.  There will also be bounce houses, live music, free food, and drinks.  More info at

104.5 WFMB Presents Easton Corbin: Saturday at 8:00pm at the Prairie Capital Convention Center.  All tickets are general admission $25.  Tickets available at the Center, 800-745-3000, or Ticketmaster outlets.

Put a Cork in Crime: Fundraiser for Sangamon and Menard County Crimestoppers.  6-10pm at Hill Prairie Winery in Oakford.  $10 per person includes hors d'oeuvres, music from Whirled Peas, cash bar, and raffles.  More info at

Trivia Night: Saturday at 7pm at the Student Life Building gymnasium at UIS.  Cash prizes for the top three teams.  Proceeds benefit communication honor students in an upcoming trip.  Register at 206-8416.

Demi Lovato Returning to "X Factor"
It's official.  Demi Lovato will return for a second season on "X Factor."  No word yet on who will replace the exiting Britney Spears.

FX Launching Another Channel Aimed at Millennials
September 2nd there will be another TV channel aimed at 18-34 year olds.  This one will be called FXX and it's from FX Networks.  It's said it will be more "comedy focused" than the main FX channel, and FX shows "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "The League" have already been slated to move to the new channel.  Reruns of "How I Met Your Mother," "Parks and Recreation," "Freaks and Geeks," and "Arrested Development" will also air on the channel. 

Blake Shelton Joins a New Group
He's a solo artist, and a mentor on "The Voice".  Now Blake Shelton has joined a group...the Chickeneers.  They made their debut on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" Thursday covering the Lumineer's song "Ho Hey" entirely by clucking.

Taylor Swift Will Guest on "New Girl"
On May 14th Taylor Swift will guest star on Fox's "New Girl."  She'll play a character named Elaine.  This isn't Swift's first TV role...she guested on CSI previously.

Barbara Walters Retiring
She started as a writer for the "Today" show in the 1960's.  Now Barbara Walters is 83 and ready to retire.  She'll hang up her hat in May of next year after a long and successful career including "20/20" and "The View."  Recently Walters has battled chicken pox and a concussion.
