Beyonce Says, 'Take That" by Belting National Anthem at Press Conference
Ever since Beyonce lip-synced the National Anthem at President Obama's inauguration, people have been trash talking her. So Thursday in New Orleans Beyonce put all the trash talking to rest at a press conference. She belted out an a cappella version of the song then took questions. She said she will "absolutely be singing live" during the Super Bowl half time show. As for lip-syncing the anthem, Beyonce said there were a number of reasons she chose to do it....weather and the fact that she didn't have a chance to rehearse with the orchestra beforehand.
Former "Idol" Judge Kara DioGuardi A Mommy
Congratulations to former "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi. On Thursday she and her husband welcomed a baby boy, their first child. Greyson James Carroll McCuddy weighed in at 8 pounds 10 ounces and was born via surrogate. DioGuardi wrote about her fertility struggles in their 2011 book "A Helluva a High Note."
Jennifer Hudson to Perform with Sandy Hook Students
Beyonce may be doing the half time show, and Alicia Keys may be doing the Star Spangled Banner, but I have a feeling it will be the singing of "America the Beautiful" that will steal the show. According to NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy, Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson will join 26 students from Sandy Hook Elementary School for "America the Beautiful" before the game. Each student will represent one person who lost their life at the school shooting in Newtown in December.
CBS to Air Whitney Houston Special To Mark 1-Year Anniversary of Her Death
Saturday, February 9th The Grammys will pay tribute to Whitney Houston one year after her untimely death. If you recall, she died one day before the Grammy Awards leaving the producers of the show scrambling to address the loss. Now you'll get to see behind-the-scenes footage of rehearsals for last year's Grammys along with interviews with Jennifer Hudson, Bruce Springsteen, and Taylor Swift in the hours just before and just after the news broke. The show will air Saturday, February 9th on CBS.
