John & Michele in the Morning

After 15 years, we're down to the last week.  July 12, 2013 will be the last show for John & Michele in the Morning.  There's nothing scandalous to report...sorry! 
John will continue his reign as Springfield's morning show king, but he'll just be doing it with someone new.
Michele is moving on to a new phase of her career in the radio business.  She'll still be in Springfield and still with Neuhoff Media, however instead of being on the air she's going to be focusing on all things digital.  It's been a great 15 years, and John & Michele plan to spend this last week reminiscing with guests and playing some of the best moments of the past.

The Weekend Marquee for June 24, 2011

The Weekend Marquee is brought to you by Theater in the Park at Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site.

The Secret Garden: Friday - Sunday at 8:00pm each night at Theatre in the Park at Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site.  Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $7 for children under 12.  For reservations call 217-632-5440 or 800-710-9290.  There is a free pre-show in the indoor theatre starting at 7pm.

Chatham American Legion Homecoming: Friday 5pm - midnight, Saturday Noon - midnight on the Chatham Village Square.  Carnival rides, games, food.  Parade is Saturday at 2pm.  Music Friday from Still Kick'n, Saturday Kung Fu Dynamite.  Free admission.

Wild Bill Bauer: Friday at 7:30pm and 9:30pm, Saturday at 8:30pm at Donnie B's Comedy Club.  Call 391-JOKE or visit www.donniebsofspringfield.com for tickets.

Ashland Summer Days: Friday - Sunday in James Park in Ashland.  Craft and food vendors, Little Miss and Mister contest, games, parade, and more.  Saturday at 8:30pm it's Confederate Railroad.

Williamsville Fourth of July Celebration: Saturday at 5pm at Williamsville Park.  Dinner served by Williamsville United Methodist Church.  Fireworks at dusk. 

Good Grades Giveaway: One student will win a 2011 Nissan Sentra Saturday at Green Nissan on West Wabash.  Students can enter until 1pm on Saturday by bringing a copy of their report card along with a parent or guardian.  Each A and B on the report card is an entry to win.  The drawing will be at 2pm.  During the "graduation party" from 1pm - 3pm there will be live music from Still Kick'n along with free food from the 49er.  Get official rules for contest at www.greennissan.net

TRN Club Chicken Fry: Saturday at 25 N. Lakewood Drive.  Chicken dinners served 2pm - 7pm.  Music from 5-10pm from Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters. 

Gail L. Miller Memorial Ride: Saturday starting at Weebl'es on Peoria Road.  Registration at 11am and ride starts at 12:30pm.  $15 donation per rider includes a patch, can koozy, and meal ticket.  All vehicles welcome.  Complimetary food at all stops.

The Oasis 5th Annual Poker Run: Saturday starting at Oasis bar in Auburn.  Sign up at 11am, leave at Noon.  Stops at Blue Grouch in Spri8ngfield, Riverside Bar in Mechanicsburg, Stadium in Springfield, Shepps in New Berlin, and back to Oasis.  Music from Bustin' Loose, auction, 50/50 drawing.  Benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Car Wash: Saturday at the Chatham Ace Hardware parking lot from 9am - 2pm the Chatham Glenwood High School cheerleaders are having a fundraiser car wash.

Rascal Flatts/Sara Evans/Easton Corbin/Justin Moore: Sunday at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis.  Tickets available at www.ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000.

Music in the Park: Sunday 4-7pm at Lincoln Park featuring classic rock with Rewind.  Free admission.  Bring lawn chairs & blankets.

"The X Factor" Has a Premiere Date
Simon Cowell will be back on TV September 20th.  Fox has announced that is the date "The X Factor" will premiere part 1 of its first episode.  The premiere will actually show over two nights. The show will feature solo artists and groups trying to win a $5-million recording deal.  Judges on the show include Cowell, Paula Abdul, and Nicole Scherzinger.  Fox has also revealed "Glee" and "Raising Hope" will also return on September 20th while "House" will be back october 3rd.

Yet Another Remake From Hollywood
They've remade "Footloose."  They've remade "Karate Kid."  Now it looks like another 80's flick is getting a makeover.  Deadline.com reports MGM will be remaking 1983's "War Games."  The original starred Matthew Broderick and Ally Sheedy.  No word on who will star in this one.

she looks a little different now, but you might remember her better if we say Joe Buttafuoco.  17-year-old Amy Fisher shot Joey Buttafuoco's wife in the face.  After prison she attempted a career in the adult film industry.  Her next role?  A cast member of the next "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinskey" being treated for alcoholism.  Fisher told "Entertainment Tonight, "I don't need rehab.  But I think I made for an interesting cast member."
