I love makeup! And whether you love makeup or not, chances are you wear it at least sometimes. Don't you want to make sure you're getting the best value for your $$$? That's what this makeup blog is all about.
I try products and services and give you an honest review. From drug stores to department stores, I try different brands at different price points to give you the scoop.
A Little About My Perspective...
- Quality is more important than quantity.
- Just because it costs more doesn't mean it's better.
- Multitasking products are a very good thing.
- Have fun...if a look doesn't work a little soap and water makes it all better.
The New Ulta Store is Here!

I've been waiting and waiting for the new Ulta store to open here in Springfield, and yesterday was the day! In case you're not familiar with Ulta, it's a cosmetic-lovers dream. Tons of cosmetic brands, fragrances, hair care products, and even hair appliances.
I've always been a Sephora girl, but Ulta is a bit different. Sephora I would say is a little higher end and focused on makeup/skin care and fragrance only. Ulta also carries drug store brand cosmetics, hair appliances and accessories, hair color, and has a hair salon inside.
I made it to the store yesterday on its opening day and wanted to tell you about it. Most of all I'm happy that we now have access to so many more cosmetic brands that we did before in Springfield. Some of the brands I saw (I won't be able to remember them all) include: Benefit, Smashbox, Bare Escentuals, Philosophy, Urban Decay, Lorac, Anastasia, Amazing Cosmetics, OPI...and that's all I can think of right now. Like Sephora, there are testers of everything on the high-end cosmetics side of the store, so you can try before you buy.
On the other side of the store they have, what I like to call, the drug store makeup brands like Maybelline, Loreal, etc. But they are arranged in a very cool way. Instead of lumping all the products from one brand together, they've arranged them by category. So all of the mascara from all the different brands is together in one area, and all of the foundation from all the brand is together in one area. It's nice, because you can then compare products side-by-side.
All in all, I was impressed with the store. I'm sure I'll be there often. Here's what I picked up yesterday...
- Lemon Aid by Benefit. It's a eye shadow base/color corrector.
- Pure Grace deodorant by Philosophy
- OPI nail polish (I can't remember the name of the color)
