"Jackass" Star Drunk at Time of Fatal Car Accident
Looks like Roger Ebert was right afterall. "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn was extremely intoxicated at the time of his car accident, accoring to police in Pennsylvania. His blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit, and police say he may have been driving at a speed of 130 mph. Dunn and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell, were both killed in the accident.
Spider-Man Getting Sued?
A number of famous actors in Hollywood are popping up in a lawsuit involving illegal gambling. Names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are popping up, although Tobey Maguire is the only one actually being sued. It all goes back to the bankruptcy case of former hedge fund manager Brad Ruderman. He's currently serving time for involvement in a ponzi scheme. TMZ says Ruderman was involved in a number of unlicensed poker games. Now he's he needs the money he lost in the gambling games to pay off his debts. Maguire allegedly netted more than $300,000 from one of those poker games, and since the game may have been illegal Ruderman wants the money back. Maguire now has a lawyer and hasn't released a statement.
Harry Potter E-Books Finally Available
It's about time! After years of resisting, author J.K. Rowling is finally making the Harry Potter books available elecronically. "The Wall Street Journal" reports she's launching an online store known as Pottermore, that will sell Harry Potter e-books directly to consumers. The online store will open to the first million users on July 31st...the rest of the general public will have to wait until October. The e-books will be compatible with any electronic reading device. In addition, the site will include extra material from Rowling herself. "I'll be sharing additional information that I've been hoarding for years about the world of Harry Potter," Rowling said at the London press conference.
