John & Michele in the Morning

After 15 years, we're down to the last week.  July 12, 2013 will be the last show for John & Michele in the Morning.  There's nothing scandalous to report...sorry! 
John will continue his reign as Springfield's morning show king, but he'll just be doing it with someone new.
Michele is moving on to a new phase of her career in the radio business.  She'll still be in Springfield and still with Neuhoff Media, however instead of being on the air she's going to be focusing on all things digital.  It's been a great 15 years, and John & Michele plan to spend this last week reminiscing with guests and playing some of the best moments of the past.

Whitney Houston Laid to Rest
It was an emotional funeral Saturday in Newark, New Jersey as Whitney Houston was laid to rest.  The day included personal stories from Kevin Costner, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, and Tyler Perry.  But the day was not without drama.  Bobby Brown left the funeral just 20 minutes after the service began over an alleged seating dispute.  Aretha Franklin was supposed to sing at the funeral, but leg spasms kept her away. 



"Safe House" and "The Vow" Switch It Up at the Box Office
Last weekend "The Vow" was number one and "Safe House" was number two.  This weekend they switched spots.  "Safe House" pulled in $24-million, "The Vow" made $23.6-million, and coming in third was "Ghost rider: Spirit of Vengeance" with $22-million.

Janet Jackson May Join "X Factor"
"The X Factor" has some vacancies, and Simon Cowell is working on filling them.  Rumors say Janet Jackson is currrently in talks to join the show as a judge, and she's not denying it.  On today's episode of "Anderson" Anderson Cooper asks her about the show and Jackson says she's "not currently" a judge on the show.

Judi Dench Going Blind
She says she has no plans to retire, despite the fact that she's losing her eysight.  Oscar winner Dame Judi Dench told "The Daily Mirror" she has macular degeration and now makes out faces only if the person stands right in front of her.  She said she requires help with scripts because of her eyes saying, "Somebody comes in and reads them to me, like telling me a story."  Dench is currently filming the latest Bond film, "Skyfall."

Stephen Colbert Back Tonight
After an abrupt departure last week, "The Colbert Report" will be back tonight.  People close to Colbert say he was caring for his mother, and Colbert tweeted Friday night "My Family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers."
