Even Sesame Street Isn't Immune to Sex Scandals
Elmo's in trouble...well the man who voices him is in trouble. Kevin Clash has been placed on leave from the show after being accused of an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old boy. Clash strongly denies the allegations and in fact Sesame Workshop says they conducted a thorough investigation back in June when they learned of the allegations. The company says while Clash exercised "poor judgment and violated company policy" they found the allegation of underage conduct to be "unsubstantiated." Class has been the voice of Elmo since 1985, and while he's taking a leave of absence to fight the allegations, Sesame Workshop says Elmo will remain on Sesame Street.
