Boston Strong Benefit Tonight
Aerosmith will be back in their hometown tonight to raise funds for victims of the Boston Marathon bombings. “Boston Strong: An Evening of Support and Celebration” includes many artists from the Boston area like J. Geils Band, James Taylor, and New Kids on the Block. Comedians Steven Wright and Dane Cook will also be there along with Jimmy Buffett, Carole King, Jason Aldean and more. Kardashians Revealing Gender of Baby Sunday on Premiere
Is there even a point to doing anything if it’s not going to be on TV? Not according to the Kardashians. Sunday is the 8th season premiere of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” on E!, and that’s when the gender of Kim and Kanye West’s baby will be revealed. I’ll make sure to set my DVR.
Neil Patrick Harris Gets Another Hosting Gig
He’s already been named host of the upcoming Tony Awards, and now he’s been tapped for the Emmys as well. Neil Patrick Harris will host the Primetime Emmy Awards in September for the second time. (He did it back in 2009.) Harris says the job couldn’t come at a better time, because he can just use the same script for both shows. The Emmys will air Sunday, September 22nd.
Oprah Goes to Harvard
Oprah will be the featured speaker at the 362nd commencement ceremony at Harvard today. There will be a crowd of about 32,000 people including graduating students, their families, Harvard staff, and alumni.
Record Ratings for “Mermaids” Mockumentary on Animal Planet
Sunday night I was perusing the channels and saw something that looked interesting on Animal Planet. It was “Mermaids: The New Evidence,” and I wasn’t the only one who watched. It was a ratings record for the channel with 3.6-million viewers. I’m just curious how many people didn’t realize it was a hoax. Then again maybe I don’t want to know.
