John & Michele in the Morning

After 15 years, we're down to the last week.  July 12, 2013 will be the last show for John & Michele in the Morning.  There's nothing scandalous to report...sorry!
John will continue his reign as Springfield's morning show king, but he'll just be doing it with someone new.
Michele is moving on to a new phase of her career in the radio business.  She'll still be in Springfield and still with Neuhoff Media, however instead of being on the air she's going to be focusing on all things digital.  It's been a great 15 years, and John & Michele plan to spend this last week reminiscing with guests and playing some of the best moments of the past.
Michele would LOVE to hear from you this week.  Write on the John & Michele Facebook page, email her, or tweet

Barbara Walters Announcing Retirement Today
She's 83-years-old, and she's ready to hang up her microphone.  Barbara Walters is set to announce her retirement on "The View" this morning.  After a career spanning more than 50 years, it will come to an end in year after the announcement.

Seth Meyers To Take Over "Late Night" After Jimmy Fallon
The rumors were true. "Saturday Night Live's" Seth Meyers will take over "Late Night" when Jimmy Fallon takes over "The Tonight Show" next year.  Meyers says he hopes he "can do it justice."

The Ultimate "Survivor" Fan Wins "Survivor"
He's probably the most unlikely winner the show has ever seen, but John Cochran became the winner of the 26th season of "Survivor" on Sunday's finale.  Cochran wins the $1-million prize beating Dawn and Sherri in a unanimous vote.  Host Jeff Probst teased the next season of the show titled "Blood vs. Water" but gave no more details than that.  The show returns in September.

It's Down to the Final Two on "Celebrity Apprentice"
A double elimination Sunday leaves Trace Adkins and Penn Jillette dueling it out as the final two.  Lil Jon and Lisa Rinna were both voted out this week.  Sunday is the finale.  Good news for the show...NBC has picked it up for another season.  Donald Trump, executive producer, announced the news on Twitter Sunday.

"The Great Gatsby" Can't Come Close to Dethroning "Iron Man 3"
On a normal weekend $51.1-million would be plenty to take the top spot at the box office...except when and "Iron Man" movie is out.  "The Great Gatsby" opened big but not big enough to shut down "Iron Man 3."  "Iron Man 3" made another $72.5-million this weekend.  In third it was "Pain and Gain" with $5-million.
