John & Michele in the Morning

After 15 years, we're down to the last week.  July 12, 2013 will be the last show for John & Michele in the Morning.  There's nothing scandalous to report...sorry!
John will continue his reign as Springfield's morning show king, but he'll just be doing it with someone new.
Michele is moving on to a new phase of her career in the radio business.  She'll still be in Springfield and still with Neuhoff Media, however instead of being on the air she's going to be focusing on all things digital.  It's been a great 15 years, and John & Michele plan to spend this last week reminiscing with guests and playing some of the best moments of the past.
Michele would LOVE to hear from you this week.  Write on the John & Michele Facebook page, email her, or tweet

Sandy Hook Chorus Will Sing "America the Beautiful" at Super Bowl
Better have a tissue handy.  Sunday during the Super Bowl pre-game festivities it's sure to be moving when the chorus from Sandy Hook Elementary School sings "America the Beautiful."  Alicia Keys is set to sing the National Anthem.

"30 Rock" Ends Tonight
It's been seven seasons, and tonight it's time to say farewell to "30 Rock."  The show, starring Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin, is wrapping it up tonight on NBC at 7pm.

Barbara Streisand to Perform at Oscars
She's just about the only one who could steal Adele's thunder.  Barbara Streisand will perform at the Oscars, according to producers.  This is only the second time she's performed on the award show.  The first time was 36 years ago when she performed "Evergreen."  She ended up winning the Oscar that night for Best Original Song.

Te'o Hoaxer Talks to Dr. Phil
Just when you thought this story couldn't get anymore strange or confusing, it does.  Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, who perpetrated the Manti Te'o girlfriend hoax, sat down to talk with Dr. Phil.  The interview will air in two parts...today and tomorrow.  According to Dr. Phil, Tuiasosopo says he's "confused" about his sexual orientation and that he developed real feelings for Te'o when he was pretending to be Lennay Kekua.  Here's a preview...

Vanity Fair Reveals "Pulp Fiction" Could Have Looked Very Different
In the latest issue of Vanity Fair there's a big article about Quentin Tarantino's masterpiece, "Pulp Fiction."  Some very interesting details are revealed about casting the film.  Turns out Sean Penn, William Hurt, and Daniel Day-Lewis were all considered for the role of Vincent Vega, the character that revived John Travolta's career.  In addition, Bruce Willis's character was almost played by Matt Dillon.

I Don't Even Know How to Title This Story, Because It's So Ridiculous.  Here we go...
So I submit that reality TV stars are the circus freaks of yesterday.  I believe this story confirms this theory.  Brandi Glanville, who became famous because her ex-husband had an affair with and then married Leann Rimes, has a new book.  It's called "Drinking & Tweeting and Other Brandi Blunders," and in the tome she tells a lovely story about how she exacted her revenge on her ex-husband, Eddie Cibrian, after he married the country singer.  She decided that she needed to have $12,000 vaginal rejuvenation surgery -- vaginoplasty.  So she gave Cibrian's credit card number to the plastic surgeon.  She writes, "A brand-new vagina would be an Eddie-free vagina.  I decided that since Eddie had ruined my vagina for me, he could pay for a new one."
