Grammy Ratings Down Significantly from Last Year
Last year almost 40-million people tuned in to the Grammy Awards. This year it was about 28-million. No surprise since last year's Grammy Awards came just 24-hours after the Whitney Houston's sudden death. Still this year's award ratings were the second highest in 20 years and put CBS on top for the night.
"Walking Dead" Breaks Another Ratings Record
The mid-season premiere of "Walking Dead" Sunday was the biggest episode yet for the series. 12.3-million tuned in, and if you add the later airing it jumps to 16.6-million. That's on a cable channel!
Caesars Entertainment Offers Britney Spears $30-million
According to "The Las Vegas Sun," Britney Spears has been offered quite a deal...about $30-million for a 35-weekend deal. She would reportedly also appear at other Caesar's nightclub properties and events for casino high-rollers.
New Cable Channel Coming Later This Year
It's called Fusion, and it's ABC and Univision coming together for a new cable channel targeting Hispanics in the U.S. The channel is to launch in the last half of this year, and according to ABC and Univision will serve 50-million Hispanics.
Sinead O'Connor Congratulates the Pope on His Retirement
She made a lot of people very angry in 1992 when she tore up a picture of Pope John Paul the Second on "Saturday Night Live." Now her comments on Pope Benedict's retirement will be sure to anger people again. Monday Sinead O'Connor wrote on her website that the Pope has made a "wise decision to retire before the very worst of what has been going on is discovered." She doesn't explain to what she is referring. O'Connor also says Benedict's "greatest achievement is this act of retiring."
