"The Voice" Crowns a Season Three Winner
Blake Shelton must have the magic touch. For the second season in a row one of his team members has won the big prize on "The Voice." Last night it was Cassadee Pope named as the winner. She gets a recording contract with Universal Music Group. The runner-up was Terry McDermott followed by Nicholas David.
"X Factor" Finale Tonight
Expect lots of stars on tonight's season two finale of "X Factor." LeAnn Rimes, Little Big Town, and Emi Lovato are all set to duet with the three finalists. Part one of the finale is tonight on FOX.
Miss USA Isn't Rigged
At least that's what a judge has decided. Ex-Miss Pennsylvania, Sheena Monin, accused the Miss USA pageant of being rigged, among other things. Trump, who owns the pageant, said her statements were defamatory. A judge agreed and award the organization $5-million in damages. The Miss Universe pageant, also owned by Trump, airs tonight on NBC.
Nielsen Teaming with Twitter for New Ratings
We've always known Nielsen for TV ratings, but the way people watch TV has changed so Nielsen is changing with it. They already measure live TV viewing along with DVR viewing, and now they're teaming with Twitter for a new set of ratings. It will be called "Nielsen Twitter TV Rating" and will measure how much Twitter chatter there is about what's on TV. The new ratings will launch next fall.
