Sharon Osbourne Leaving "America's Got Talent" Over Discrimination
Sharon Osbourne is angry at NBC, and according to the "New York Post" she's quitting "America's Got Talent." She says the network was in talks with her son, Jack, about being on a new reality show called "Stars Earn Stripes," but dumped him after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Osbourne says her son was fired by the network via email a couple of days before the show was to start filming and the network lied about it. NBC has responded and denies discriminating against Jack. NBC Entertainment Chairman, Bob Greenblatt, said they did ask Jack to participate in the show in a couple of alternative roles, but he declined them both. Greenblatt also says the show is a very physical one and requires potential cast members to undergo medical screenings to make sure they can safely participate. Sharon and Jack Osbourne have both acknowledged there was no signed contract but a verbal agreement.
