For years people in Springfield, Illinois, have claimed that we are the official town of "The Simpsons," but now it's been revealed untrue. The creator of "The Simpsons," Matt Groening, has finally settled the argument. The show is set in Springfield, Oregon. Groening picked the name, because one of his favorite childhood shows (Father Knows Best) was set in Springfield.
Another Dancer Gets Booted, and Melissa Gilbert Missing
The actress best known as Laura Ingalls, Melissa Gilbert, didn't make it back to the "Dancing with the Stars" results show. After suffering a concussion during her performance Monday night host Tom Bergeron announced she was taking the night off. She is expected to return to the show next week. Then there was the elimination, and it was an emotional one as Sherri Shepherd was booted from the show.
Britney Spears Close to "X Factor" Deal
Deadline.com is reporting Britney Spears and "X Factor" are in final negotiations to have the pop star on the judges panel for the next season. Spears would be filling one of the seats vacated by Paula Abdul and Nichole Scherzinger who were fired after the first season. The show is already auditioning for season two, and the second season is to premiere in September.
"The Hunger Games" Director Won't Direct The Sequel
The film has already earned more than $460-million worldwide, and there is huge anticipation for the sequel, "Catching Fire." However the sequel won't have the same director. Gary Ross released a statement to E! News that he won't be returning to direct the next movie in the series. He says he doesn't have the time he needs to "write and prep' the movie he would want to make. "Catching Fire" is scheduled to hit theaters November 22, 2013.
