John & Michele in the Morning

After 15 years, we're down to the last week.  July 12, 2013 will be the last show for John & Michele in the Morning.  There's nothing scandalous to report...sorry! 
John will continue his reign as Springfield's morning show king, but he'll just be doing it with someone new.
Michele is moving on to a new phase of her career in the radio business.  She'll still be in Springfield and still with Neuhoff Media, however instead of being on the air she's going to be focusing on all things digital.  It's been a great 15 years, and John & Michele plan to spend this last week reminiscing with guests and playing some of the best moments of the past.

Lindsay Lohan Had a Very Bad Thursday

We told you yesterday that Lindsay Lohan had been arrested in the the early morning hours of Thursday after a fight with another woman at a night club in New York City.  That was just the beginning for the troubled actress on Thursday.  The Santa Monica City Attorney's Office announced it had filed three misdemeanor charges against Lohan.  It's all stemming from the car accident back in June on the Pacific Coast Highway.  Lohan is accused of lying about who was actually driving the vehicle.  She claimed she was not driving at the time of the accident, but police say she was.

Baby Number 2 On the Way for Jessica Simpson
Little Maxwell Drew isn't even one yet, but Jessica Simpson has another bun in the oven.  Well at least that's what a source tells "Us Weekly."  Simpson hasn't confirmed the news yet.

Demi Moore Continues Her Cougar Ways
Demi Moore likes the younger men, what can she say?  She was married to the much younger Ashton Kutcher, and now the 50-year-old is reportedly dating a 26-year-old art dealer.  The New York Post says he's Vito Schnabel.

ABC Picks Up Friday Comedies
Good news for Reba.  Her show "Malibu Country" has been picked up for another five episodes on ABC.  "Last Man Standing" will also be around for at least another five episodes on the network.  Other shows will be around a while longer: "Nashville" has been picked up for a full season along with "The Neighbors," while "Scandal" will get a second season.  On the other hand more shows have been canceled.  "Mob Doctor" on Fox, "Emily Owens, M.D." on the CW, and MTV's "The Inbetweeners" have all been canceled.

Lindsay Lohan Arrested This Morning
Coming off the less than stellar returns for portrayal of Liz Taylor, Lindsay Lohan is in trouble again.  TMZ reports she was arrested early this morning in New York City after a fight with another woman at a night club.  She was arrested for assault.

All Star Season of "Dancing with the Stars" Crowns a Winner
It was a great night for Melissa Rycroft...she picked up her first DWTS mirrorball trophy.  Previously, she came in third place.  In second place it was Shawn Johnson followed by Kelly Monaco.

"Hobbit" Premiering Today in New Zealand
It will be another two weeks before "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" comes to theaters in the U.S., but the world premiere of the film is tonight in New Zealand.  It will be interesting to see how the film is received by audiences as director Peter Jackson has filmed it at 48 frames per second versus the normal 24 frames per second.  Jackson cites the clarity and smoothness, but it will look different to audiences.

"Two and a Half Men" Star Apologizes for Calling the Show "Filth"
Angus T. Jones, who plays Jake on "Two and a Half Men" has issued an apology after his testimony for a Christian Church went viral.  In the video Jones urges people to stop watching the show calling it "filth."  Now Jones says he's sorry if his remarks cam across as showing "indifference to" and "disrespect of" his colleagues.  He says he never intended to sound unappreciative of what he calls the "extraordinary opportunity" of which he has been blessed.

Jamie Foxx Thinks Obama Is a god?
Sunday on BET Jamie Foxx made an appearance at the Soul Train Awards and ruffled a lot of feathers when he referred to Barack Obama as "our Lord and Savior."  See for yourself.
 


Lenny Kravitz to Play Marvin Gaye
This could be interesting.  "Rolling Stone" says a new biopic of Marvin Gaye is in the works, and Lenny Kravitz is set to play the legend.  The film is said to focus on Gaye's struggle with addiction and his attempt to restart his career in the early 1980's.  Filming is to start next year.

"Two and a Half Men" Star Calls His Own Show "Filth"
I've thought the show was filth for a long time, but now one of the stars of "Two and a Half Men" has confirmed it.  Angus T. Jones, who plays Jake Harper on the show, recently did a video testimonial for Forerunner Christian Church urging people to stop watching the show.  Jones called the show "filth" and said, "You cannot be a true God-fearing person and be on a television show like that.  I know I can't.  No comment yet from CBS, Warner Brothers, or Chuck Lorre.

Brad Paisley's Wife Could Become "Nashville" Regular
If you've been watching "Nashville" you know Kimberly Williams-Paisley is currently guest-starring on the show.  Now Deadline.com is reporting she could become a regular on the show.  If the show is renewed for a second season, she would have the option to stay on.

It's Official: Cory and Topanga are In for "Boy Meets World" Spinoff
Now they will be happily married parents of a 13-year-old girl named Riley.  Both Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are returning at Cory and Topanga in a new pilot for the Disney Channel.  The spinoff of "Boy Meets World" will be called "Girl Meets World," and EW.com is reporting there's a nationwide casting search going on right now to cast the main character.

"Dallas" Not Sure How It Will Handle Larry Hagman's Death
Before he died Friday at the age of 81, Larry Hagman had taped about a third of the upcoming second season of "Dallas" on TNT.  The cast was scheduled to get back to work this week after a Thanksgiving break, but Deadline.com is reporting the break may be extended to give the writers time to rework scripts.  No word on exactly how they're going to handle the death of J.R. Ewing on the show. 

Another Number One Weekend for "Twilight"
It was another $64-million for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2" at the box office this weekend.  "Skyfall" held strong with another $51-million, while "Lincoln" was third with $34.1-million.

"Gangnam Style" Is Now the Most-Watched YouTube Video of All Time
It's been watched more than 803,761,000 since July, and that makes Psy's "Gangnam Style" the most-watched YouTube video of all time.  That pushes Justin Bieber to second place.  His song "baby" held the number one spot in July of 2010.

First All Female Finale for "Dancing with the Stars"

Who will be the first all-star winner of DWTS?  One thing we know for sure, it will be a woman.  For the first time DWTS has an all-female finale with Shawn Johnson, Melissa Rycroft, and Kelly Monaco competing to win tonight on ABC.

"Big Bang's" Mayim Bialik and Husband to Divorce
After nine years of marriage and two kids, the woman who once played Blossom and her husband are calling it quits.  In a statement posted on her website the 36-year-old Bialik said her main priority now is to transition her sons, 7 and 4, to "two loving homes as smooth and painless as possible."

Halle Berry's Ex Gets Arrested
In many families there ends up being a little Thanksgiving altercation along with the turkey and dressing.  It was no different for Oscar-winner Halle Berry.  TMZ reports her ex, Gabriel Aubrey, showed up at Berry's home Thanksgiving morning to drop off their daughter and ended up in a fight with Berry's fiance, Olivier Martinez.  The fracas ended with both men injured and a judge issuing an emergency protective order against Aubrey.  He must stay 100 yards away from Berry, their daughter, and Martinez.

"Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" Has Biggest Audience in Years
While "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is more popular "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" held its own Wednesday night with 8.1-million viewers.   In fact, it had it's biggest audience in four years beating "X Factor" and "Whitney" on NBC.  It wasn't, however, able to pass up "Survivor" on CBS which had 9.3-million viewers.

Voice of Elmo Resigns
Kevin Clash, the voice behind Sesame Street's Elmo, has resigned.  Clash is the target of a $5-million lawsuit filed by a second man who says he had a sexual relationship with Clash when he was underage.  Tuesday Sesame Workshop praised Clash for his work the last 28 years but said that Clash "has concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job and has resigned from Sesame Street."   The "New York Times" is reporting filming of the show has been unaffected and that Clash had been helping the company identify other puppeteers who could play Elmo for some time now.

Khloe Kardashian Sent Package with White Powder on Set of "X Factor"
The FBI is investigating a suspicious letter that arrived on the set of "X Factor" Tuesday morning.  The letter constrained a suspicious white powder and was meant for Khloe Kardashian.  Authorities determined the powder was harmless, but the contents of the letter are not known.

Yes, the Rolling Stones have their own app.  The band is celebrating it's 50th anniversary, and they've released a new app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.  It will include exclusive content including interviews, performance footage, photos, and videos and an interactive feature that will allow fans to vote on the songs they want to hear at upcoming shows.

It didn't quite break a record, but it was still a huge weekend for the final chapter of the Twilight Saga.  "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" made $141.3-million in it's opening weekend.  That's just shy of the $142.8-million the second film in the franchise made it's opening weekend.  In second place at the box office this weekend it was "Skyfall" with $41.5-million bringing it to more than $669-million worldwide.  That makes it the highest grossing Bond film of all time.  In third place this weekend it was "Lincoln" with $21-million.

Networks Ax More Shows
ABC and CBS has pulled the plug on some freshman shows.  ABC won't be bringing back "Last Resort" or "666 Park Avenue."  On CBS "Partners" is getting the ax and will be replaced with reruns on Monday night.

Even More Deaths Coming to "Walking Dead"
If you've watched "Walking Dead" this season, you know no character is safe.  Anyone can be killed off at any time, and according to Lauren Cohan who plays Maggie, there's more to come.  She says on NBCNews.com, "You are definitely going to see some major losses, if you can believe it.  Some huge lives are going to be thrown into question."  The show takes a break after the December 2nd episode and returns in February.
 
Actress Who Voiced Smurfette Dies
While Katy Perry was the voice of Smurfette in the 2011 film about the little blue people, the original Smurfette in the 1980's TV show was voiced by Lucille Bliss.  Bliss has died of natural causes at the age of 96.  She also voiced Cinderella stepsister Anastasia in the Disney classic and was even the voice of the original Elroy in "The Jetsons."  However, in an interesting story, she lost that job because she wouldn't work under a stage name to cover the fact that a woman was voicing a boy character.

"American Horror Story" Will Return for a 3rd Season
Good news, there will be more "American Horror Story."  FX has picked it up for a third season.  According to NBCNews.com Jessica Lange will return for the third season in a new role, and the season will have 13 episodes.

Writer Aaron Sorkin Reveals Steve Jobs Film Will Have Only Three Scenes
As the work continues to bring the life of Steve Jobs to the big screen, the screenwriter has revealed just like Jobs, the film will not be typical.  In a Daily Beast Hero Summit Q&A Aaron Sorkin revealed the film will only be three scenes.  Each scene will be approximately 30 minutes long and be done in real time. Sorkin said, "Each of these three scenes is going to take place backstage before a product laugh.

IMAX Sneak Peek at New Star Trek Film
If you go to see "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" starting December 14th in an IMAX theater, you'll get to see something special.  Paramount Pictures is premiering nine minutes from "Star Trek Into Darkness," according to TheWrap.com.  You won't be able to see the whole movie until May 17, 2013.

Bon Jovi's Daughter Allegedly Overdoses on Heroin
She's okay, but the 19-year-old daughter of Bon Jovi is now facing charges after an alleged overdoes on heroin.  TMZ is reporting that someone found Stephanie Rose Bongiovi unresponsive in a dorm room at Hamilton College early Wednesday.  Police say they found heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.  She was arrested and has been ordered to appear in court at a later date.
 
Johnny Carson Feature Film In The Works
It could be a ways off, but Deadline.com is reporting that Johnny Carson's estate has teamed with producers to develop a film about Carson.  It would be based on an upcoming book titled "Carson the Magnificent: An Intimate Portrait."  The author, Bill Zehme, is the only journalist Carson spoke to after he retired from "The Tonight Show."  The writer of "Black Swan" is working on a script now.

Blair Warner Has West Nile Virus
I've loved watching Lisa Welchel on "Survivor: Philippines" this season.  She's nothing like her Blair Warner character from "Facts of Life," and is actually quite shy and seems like the kind of woman I would befriend.  On Tuesday Welchel revealed she has West Nile Virus.  No indication it came from her time on the show, and she expects a full recovery.  She tweeted, "I'm fine, just tired.  Takes a year to recover."

Accuser Recants Claims Against Elmo Puppeteer
The man who claimed he had a sexual relationship with Kevin Clash when he was just 16 now says he lied.  According to a statement from the accuser's attorney, he "wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship."  Clash, who has provided the voice for Sesame Street's Elmo for almost 30 years, has admitted to the relationship but said the man was of legal age at the time. 

Channing Tatum Named People's Sexiest Man Alive
Last year it was Bradley Cooper.  This year it's Channing Tatum.  He's been named People's Sexiest Man Alive.

Matthew McConaughey is Shockingly Thin
In "Magic Mike" he was buff and cut, but not anymore.  Matthew McConaughey has lost nearly 40 pounds for a movie role.  The film is called "The Dallas Buyer's Club," and he plays a man diagnosed with AIDS in the 1980's.  The film is to be out next year.

Even Sesame Street Isn't Immune to Sex Scandals
Elmo's in trouble...well the man who voices him is in trouble.  Kevin Clash has been placed on leave from the show after being accused of an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old boy.   Clash strongly denies the allegations and in fact Sesame Workshop says they conducted a thorough investigation back in June when they learned of the allegations.  The company says while Clash exercised "poor judgment and violated company policy" they found the allegation of underage conduct to be "unsubstantiated."  Class has been the voice of Elmo since 1985, and while he's taking a leave of absence to fight the allegations, Sesame Workshop says Elmo will remain on Sesame Street.

Barbara Walters Gets Dumped for Jay Leno
Last week Barbara Walters was supposed to interview Lindsay Lohan, but Lohan bailed out.  On "The View" Monday, Walters said she was disappointed she didn't receive any real explanation for the absence except she wasn't feeling up to it.  But Walters was really perturbed when she found out Lohan was booked to be on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."  Lohan's interview with Walters was supposed to air on "20/20" Friday.  Now her interview with Leno will air next week.
 
"Nashville" Picked Up for a Full Season
Good news if you've been loving the ABC drama "Nashville."  The network has ordered a full season of the show.

Brooke Burke-Charvet Has Thyroid Cancer
"Dancing with the Stars" co-host, Brooke Burke-Charvet is battling cancer.  The 41-year-old announced Thursday she has thyroid cancer and will have to undergo surgery and treatment.   Burke-Charvet, says doctors told her it's a "good kind of cancer to have" and they expect a "happily-ever-after kind of ending."

"Transformers 4"  Gets a New Star
Entertainment Weekly reports Mark Wahlberg will be star of the "Transformers 4."  Director Michael Bay has official confirmed the news.   The sequel is to hit theaters June 27, 2014.

"Chicago Fire" Gets a Full Season
Good news for "Chicago Fire."  NBC has picked it up for a full season.  The show is doing very well, averaging 8-million viewers per show this season.  (That's same-day and DVR viewing combined.)
 
Former James Bond Calls "Skyfall" the 'Best Bond Ever Made'
Roger Moore has written a new book about his experiences: "Bond on Bond: Reflecting on 50 Years of James Bond Movies."  Moore appearance on the "Today Show" and talked about all the fun he had making the films.  He also said of the latest Bond flick, "I think of it as just the best Bond ever made.  I called (producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson) and said, 'Your parents would be so proud of you.  You've given Bond another 50 years life.'"

"Modern Family" Actress Removed from Home After Alleged Abuse
Ariel Winter, who plays Alex Dunphy on "Modern Family," is going though some personal drama with her mother.  TMZ says the 14-year-old has been removed from her home after allegations of physical and emotional abuse by her mother.  Winter has been placed with her older sister, and her mother has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from the actress.  Winter's mother denies the allegations, and there's a court hearing November 20th.

Lady Gaga Donates Big Bucks to Hurricane Sandy Relief
Saying, "if it wasn't for NYC: the Lower East side, Harlem, the Bronx, and Brooklyn, I would not be the woman or the artist I am today," Lady Gaga announced on her website she is pledging $1-million to New York and the American Red Cross.  She added, "Thank you for helping me build my spirit.  I will now help you rebuild yours."

NBC Wins the Election Night Coverage War
Election night was a good night was a good night for NBC.  The network had the most viewers with 12.6-million as America watched to see who would be our next president.  ABC came in second followed by CBS and Fox.

Jermaine Jackson Doesn't Want to Be a Jackson Anymore
Apparently he's had enough.  TMZ is reporting Jermaine Jackson, Michael's older brother, has filed a request to legally change is last name.  Jackson is citing "artistic reasons" for the change.  A hearing has been scheduled.  No word on what name he'd like to take, but if his request is approved it will be publicly announced several times before it's made official.

Angry Birds Star Wars Out Today
Yippy, another excuse to play Angry Birds.  The popular game has teamed with LucasFilms to release a new version of the game.  It's available for download starting today and centers around the first release in the Star Wars saga.

Britney Says She'll Return to "X Factor"
The show hasn't announced the judges for season three, but Britney Spears says she's coming back.  Spears told "Broadway World" at a red carpet event she's "definitely" planning on returning as a judge next year.

ABC Raises $17-million for Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts
Monday was ABC's "Day of Giving," and a lot of people gave a lot of money.  Shows throughout the day urged people to give, and they did to the tune of $17-million.

Jay-Z Brings Power to His New York Neighbors
Some are still without power in New York after Hurricane Sandy, but Jay-Z is reportedly helping some get their lights back on.  The "New York Post" is reporting that while Jay-Z, Beyonce, and their child moved uptown where there is power, but before he left he purchased a generator to provide power to the entire building where they own a $7-million loft.   However, his rep is not confirming or denying the report saying "no comment."
 
Kirstie Alley Says She and Patrick Swayze Were in Love
Monday on "Entertainment Tonight" Kirstie Alley revealed that she and Patrick Swayze fell in love after working on the TV miniseries "North and South."  Alley said, "We were creating a future together.  Both of us were married.  We did not have an affair."  Then in her most obvious statement, "I think when you fall in love with someone when you're married, you jeopardize your own marriage and their marriage."  Duh.

There's a New Gerber Baby
Even if you've never purchase a jar of baby food, you probably know what the Gerber Baby face looks like.  Now that's changing...sort of.  The company held a contest to find the new face of Gerber and chose 8-month-old Mary Jane Montoya.  She won't replace the original Gerber baby on the products, but she will appear in upcoming ads.

Harrison Ford Back as Han Solo?
Last week had fans of "Star Wars" stirring with the announcement that Disney had bought Lucasfilm which includes "Star Wars."  Now, according to "Entertainment Weekly," a source is saying the three stars of the original movies are "open to the idea" of coming back for the sequel.  That includes Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill. 

Anheuser-Busch Wants Out of the Movie "Flight"
Denzel Washington is getting Oscar buzz for his performance as an airline pilot accused of drinking in "Flight."  But Anheuser-Busch doesn't want any part of it.  The company has issued a letter to the movie studio asking Paramount Pictures to obscure images of their Budweiser beer in the film.  They say they had "no knowledge of the use or portrayal of Budweiser" before or during the making of the film.  They want the trademark to be obscured in digital copies and any follow-up adaptations of the film.  No word from Paramount.

Sharon Osbourne Had a Double Mastectomy
Sharon Osbourne had quite a summer.  She revealed to "Hello!" magazine that she underwent a double mastectomy when she learned she carries the gene that increases her risk of developing breast cancer.  Osbourne has already had cancer once: colon cancer ten years ago. 

"Boy Meets World" Could Be Getting a Spinoff
Cory and Topanga as parents?  It could happen.  Michael Jacobs, the original creator of the 90's sit-com "Boy Meets World," is working with the Disney Channel on a sequel to the show.  It will be called "Girl Meets World" and will be about a teenage girl.  Her parents could be played by Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel, TVLine reports.  Bing it on!

"Wreck-It Ralph" Sets Record for Disney
It was a huge weekend for Disney at the box office.  Their latest animated offering, "Wreck-It Ralph," made $49.1-million in it's opening weekend.  That makes it the highest-grossing opening weekend in Disney animation history.  "Flight" starring Denzel Washington came in a distant second with $25-million.  At number three it was "Argo" with $10.2-million.

Hurricane Sandy Telethon Raises Nearly $23-million
Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen helped raise nearly $23-million dollars for the American Red Cross Friday night during the "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together" telethon.  Billy Joel, Sting, Steven Tyler, Jimmy Fallon, Christina Aguilera and many other celebs participated in the hour-long commercial-free fundraiser.

Cee Lo Green Accuser Says She Has Recording of His Apology
Cee Lo Green, judge on "The Voice," says "nothing ever happened there or anywhere else."  But a woman is accusing him of assault, and sources tell TMZ Green allegedly admits to drugging the woman and having sex with her on a secretly taped recording.  According to the woman, Green bought her a drink at an L.A. restaurant in July and the next thing she knew she woke up naked in a bed with him.  Green's camp says the woman only went to police after they turned down her request for money.
