Tom Cruise Sues Magazine for $50-million
You can say a lot about Tom Cruise, but you'd better not say anything about his parenting skills. Cruise has filed a $50-million lawsuit against "Life & Style" for their claims that he abandoned his daughter Suri following his divorce from Katie Holmes over the summer. His attorney, Bert Fields, said Cruise doesn't go around suing people but "when these sleaze peddlers try to make money with disgusting lies about his relationship with his child, you be he's going to sue."

There's a defamation trial going on against Britney Spears and her family. Spears' former manager, Sam Lufti, testified Tuesday in court that he's in no way responsible for her breakdown a few years ago and that he, in fact, tried to help her kick a drug problem he alleges she had. Spears' parents and her fiance are expected to take the stand at some point. Britney herself was deemed incompetent to testify by a judge.

"Homeland" and "X Factor" Renewed for Third Seasons

Say so long to NBC's "Animal Practice." The network has decided to cancel the comedy and replace it with "Whitney." Looks the network won't be replacing the show immediately. Three more episodes of "Animal Practice" will air.
I Guess Simon Cowell Doesn't Like Baseball
As baseball fans know, there were some issues with rain delays on Wednesday night. The Cardinal/Giants game had a very long rain delay, so "X Factor" got a late start. Then the network decided to start "The Mindy Project" on time cutting of "X Factor" as the show was announce which contestants had made it onto the final teams. Simon tweeted, "Have no idea what is happening to the schedule tonight." He also tweeted, "It's what's known as a total f up." FOX will air the entire episode Tuesday at 7pm.

Newsweek Going all Digital By Year's End
It's a sign of the times. Newsweek announced today that it is moving to an all-digital format. The December 31st issue will be the last printed publication for Newsweek. According to Tina Brown, editor-in-chief, the digital version will be called Newsweek Global, and you will still need a subscription to read it. Brown also said, "Regrettably we anticipate staff reductions and the streamlining of our editorial and business operations both here and in the U.S. and internationally."
It's official. After rumors started circulating, the NFL tweeted confirmation Tuesday that Beyonce will be the featured performer at the 2013 Superbowl half time show. This will be her first half time performance, though she has sung the national anthem back in 2004.

Yesterday we told you Khloe Kardashian was going to be the new co-host on "X Factor." Now we have confirmed her partner as co-host will be MarioLopez. Simon Cowell said, "The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out. Mario and Khloe are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn't be happier."

"X Factor" Gets a Kardashian Host
Khloe Kardashian will be joining "X Factor" has a co-host. E! has confirmed the news that she will be part of a pair once the show starts airing live shows. No confirmation on who her co-host will be, but Mario Lopez is the rumored pick.
"Walking Dead" Season 3 Premiere Ratings Through the Roof
Just when you thought "The Walking Dead" couldn't get any bigger, it does. The season premiere Sunday on AMC pulled in almost 11-million viewers...and that was just for the first airing. If you add in the additional broadcasts that ran Sunday night the show had over 15-million viewers Sunday night. The numbers will get even bigger when the DVR recordings are added in. These numbers are even more impressive when you remember that Dish Network customers do not get AMC. However the network offered a free online stream of the show do Dish subscribers. Unfortunately it crashed due to overwhelming traffic.

So which shows are the ones that people record and watch later? Zap2It.com says "Revolution" is number one in that category. It's followed by "Modern Family" and "The Big Bang Theory." "Elementary" and "NCIS" round out the top 5.
"Taken 2" Continues to Rake It In
It was another big weekend for Liam Neeson's latest, "Taken 2." The flick took in $22.5-million to keep it at number one at the box office. "Argo" came in second with $20.1-million, and "Sinister" was third with $18.3-million.
"Celebrity Apprentice" All Star Season Up Next
"Dancing with the Stars" is doing it, so why not "Celebrity Apprentice?" Donald Trump will have an all-star season of his show come March. Back in boardroom will be Trace Adkins, Lisa Rinna, Dennis Rodman, and Omarosa. The only past winner who will return to the show is Bret Michaels.
Dane Cook Show Won't Happen
NBC and Dane Cook are at odds, and now it looks like Cook's show will not be happening. The network has dropped his comedy "Next Caller." The show was supposed to air later this fall, but apparently creative differences between NBC and Cook mean the show will not see the light of day.

"Munsters" Reboot Will Be a One-Time Special Instead of a Series
Looks like there won't be a new "Munsters" TV show after all. No word on why the series was scrapped, however we will still get to see the pilot episode. 36 Bags of Heroin, Marijuana, and a Gun Found on Nelly's Bus
Rapper Nelly is in a bit of trouble. His tour bus was stopped at a border patrol check point in Texas, and police found heroin, marijuana, and a gun on board. According to the police, one of the members of Nelly's entourage, Brian Keith Jones, came forward saying the drugs and gun were his. He was taken into custody. Everyone else on the bus was sent on their way.

I'm a HUGE fan of director Alfred Hitchcock, so I'm looking forward to seeing Anthony Hopkins take on the role. It wouldn't be a week without some sort of Lohan in the news. This week it's Lindsay Lohan and her mother, Dina, who allegedly got into a huge fight that ended in a 911 call Wednesday morning. According to TMZ, the trouble started after mom and daughter spent some quality time partying until 4am in Manhattan. The argument allegedly started on the way back to Long Island and escalated into a physical confrontation. There were no arrests. So who called 911? According to E! News, Michael Lohan.
Football Star and Father of "Webster" Dead at 77
Alex Karras was known for his action on the football field as well as on the movie and TV screens. Tuesday he died at age 77 after suffering kidney failure. His movie credits included "Blazing Saddles" and "Victor Victoria." On TV he was known best as Emmanuel Lewis's father on "Webster."

This tour isn't starting so well for Justin Bieber. The first night he vomited on stage, and Tuesday in Tacoma his laptop and camera were stolen. His tour manager was also victimized.

Actress Stacy Dash Experiences Backlash Over Romney Support
She should know by now that if you're an actress in Hollywood and a Republican it's better to keep your mouth shut. But Stacy Dash of "Clueless" decided she would tweet her support for Mitt Romney. Then the backlash started. Dash received a tweet saying, "You're an unemployed black woman endorsing @MittRomney. You're voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot." Dash says she received a thank you call from Romney's running mate, Paul Ryan, who she said called her "brave."

"Peanuts" Film in the Works
Most of us have a favorite Peanuts TV special, but now the Peanuts gang is coming to the big screen. The new animated film featuring Charlie Brown and the rest of the gang is scheduled to hit theaters November 25, 2015. That times the movie perfectly with the 65th anniversary of the debut of the comic strip and the 50th anniversary of the first TV special, "A Very Charlie Brown Christmas."

Dish Network Customers Won't Lose Broadcast Networks
There's been a break in the stalemate between Gannett Media and Dish Network. The two had been in negotiations over fees and "The Hopper," an automatic commercial-skipping DVR. They're reached a deal to avoid a blackout of ABC, NBC, and CBS on Dish. Without the deal customers in 19 cities would have lost the networks.

Mariah Carey Hires Extra Security Because of Nicki Minaj
Mariah Carey isn't taking any chances after she says Nicki Minaj threatened her life. Thursday Carey told Barbara Walters she has hired extra security and that she doesn't feel comfortable on the show but will continue on "Idol" because she loves the show and mentoring the contestants. Tuesday in North Carolina TMZ released a video of fellow judge, Nicki Minaj, going off on a profanity-laced rant against Carey.
DWTS Receives Suspicious Package Over Bristol Palin
Once again Bristol Palin's participation on "Dancing with the Stars" has angered someone. The show received a package on Wednesday containing white powder and a note demanding Palin be removed from the show. According to an FBI source the white powder was harmless. Back in 2010 when Palin competed on the show a similar incident happened.

The class of 2013 has been announced...15 acts up for consideration for induction in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Rush and Deep Purple are getting their shot for the first time along with Procol Harum, the Marvelettes, Albert King, Public Enemy, and N.W.A. Up for their second time are Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Randy Newman, Kraftwerk, and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. This is the fifth time Donna Summer has been on the ballot and the sixth time for Chic. The induction ceremony will be held April 18th in Los Angeles.

Nicki Minaj Caught in Profanity Laced Tirade Against Mariah Carey
Official word from "American Idol" is that the new judges are getting along swimmingly, however a new video has surfaced that shows quite the opposite is true. The TMZ video shows Nicki Minaj yelling at fellow judge Mariah Carey during auditions in North Carolina Tuesday. Minaj refers to Carey as "her highness" and accuses Carey of calling her a gangster and patronizing her. Sources say Minaj also threatened to knock Carey out, but that's not on the video. The auditions were reportedly stopped early so the judges could cool down.
Another All-Star Eliminated from DWTS
It was so long to Joey Fatone on "Dancing with the Stars" Tuesday night. Fatone was in the bottom three with Kelly Monaco and Helio Castroneves. Next week's show will feature two eliminations, according to host Tom Bergeron.

Brittany Kerr Shuts Down Twitter After Jason Aldean Backlash
After photos surfaced of a public makeout session with the married Jason Aldean, former "Idol" contestant Brittany Kerr has shut down her Twitter page. She received thousands of angry comments from Aldean fans calling her a "homewrecker" among other things. Kerr has issued an apology saying, "The actions I portrayed recently were not a representation of my true character, but a lapse in judgment on my part." She adds, "I would like to sincerely apologize to everyone that has been affected by this, including my friends and family."

It's been a bad weekend for Jason Aldean and his family. Photos have surfaced of the country singer getting very friendly with a former "American Idol" contestant in a Los Angeles bar. The photos, posted on TMZ, were reportedly taken last Wednesday and show the married Aldean and Brittany Kerr hugging and touching. Aldean has responded saying he "screwed up," that he had "too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at the bar." He also adds he "left alone" and caught the bus to his next show.

Justin Bieber Vomits During a Concert
Fans got a little extra at the Justin Bieber concert Saturday night in Arizona. He kicked off his tour but was apparently a bit under the weather and actually threw up on stage at one point. During another song he left the stage to vomit again. After the shower was over he blamed his issue on what he had prior to the show tweeting "Milk was a bad choice! Lol."
